- December 1980 - April 1990. President and CEO Boskalis Westminster, Inc., and subsidiary Stuyvesant Dredging, Inc., New Orleans, LA. Dredging projects were executed for the US Army Corps of Engineers on all three coasts of the United States by the largest hopper dredge (then) ever to be built in the United States: the "Stuyvesant". This vessel was built at Avondale Shipyard near New Orleans, and complied with the Jones Act.

- 1958 - 1971. Started with James Contracting & Shipping Co. Ltd. "James Dredging" then recently taken over by Westminster Dredging Company. Then, management consisted of Ernest James, Wm. "Bill" Kalis, and Hans van Hemert. Promoted from position of dredging superintendent through project manager on projects in Europe, Scandinavia, Africa, and the Middle East.
