He worked for two of the largest international dredging contractors, Royal Boskalis Westminster NV (Westminster Dredging Company) and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, Inc., in many countries.
He attended the London Business School Sloan Fellowship Programme in 1979 and 1980 and speaks four languages, and is a member of the Western Dredging Association (WEDA), the Society of American Military Engineers, and the London Business School Association.

December 1998. Incorporated Anderson Dredging & Consulting, Ltd., Mandeville, LA. President and Owner.

 

August 1998 - December 1998. ENSR International, Piscataway, NJ. Senior Program Manager. Researching the US dredging market, and marketing for dredging and offshore construction works in the Gulf of Mexico.

 

October 1995 - July 1998. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, Chicago, IL. Area Representative. Marketing in various countries in the Far East. Also represented the company as acting Executive Director of Vinawaco & Great Lakes Co., Ltd. joint venture company in Vietnam.

 

May 1994 - September 1995. Dredging consulting. Clients included Bean Dredging Corporation, Belle Chase, LA., Eastern Construction Co., Taiwan, R.O.C. and Amerfinan Investment Co., San Francisco, CA., and the P.R.C.

 

May 1990 - April 1994. Sterling Air & Water, Inc., Covington, LA. President and Founder. This company manufactured and marketed a line of air and water filtration products, and was sold to a Canadian public company.

 

December 1980 - April 1990. President and CEO Boskalis Westminster, Inc., and subsidiary Stuyvesant Dredging, Inc., New Orleans, LA. Dredging projects were executed for the US Army Corps of Engineers on all three coasts of the United States by the largest hopper dredge (then) ever to be built in the United States: the "Stuyvesant". This vessel was built at Avondale Shipyard near New Orleans, and complied with the Jones Act.

 

1974 - 1979. Boskalis Westminster (Middle East) Ltd., Doha, State of Qatar. Project Manager and Boskalis Westminster Group Area Representative formost of the Arabian Gulf region. 

 

1972 - 1973. Westminster Dredging Company (Boskalis), Bentley, England. Overseas Contracts Manager, responsible to the Overseas Director for all worldwide operations.

 

1958 - 1971. Started with James Contracting & Shipping Co. Ltd. "James Dredging" then recently taken over by Westminster Dredging Company. Then, management consisted of Ernest James, Wm. "Bill" Kalis, and Hans van Hemert. Promoted from position of dredging superintendent through project manager on projects in Europe, Scandinavia, Africa, and the Middle East.
